Manual Dial thermostat is reliable.
originally, had 7 Sun Stat programmable thermostats and my home and 5 of 7 have failed in just a couple years. I have replaced the 5 programmable thermostats with the manual dial thermostat and these continue to work. They seem to be more reliable with less failure right and the programmable ones. Not sure if electrical surges from lightening killed the more expensive programmable units, but the Sunstat programmable units are garbage. Perfect solution
We bought this as a replacement for our original SunStat digital thermostat that came with install. Pain in the @ss from day one. Regularly gave "end of life" error code for no particular reason. We could usually turn it on/off at the fuse box and on/off on the unit itself and bring it back to life for awhile before it would crap out again. This time we had enough and ordered this basic one. We never used the programmable features anyway, so on/off or heat up/down is perfect. Got two to replace our other one when it decides to finally go. Same wire for wire install as the original.
