    Solid tripod for the money

    Tripod is SOLID, not very lightweight but you can feel the quality. Not well suited for backpacking into the woods due to the weight, but I carry it in regardless. The quick release head has been anything but quick release, but it's not hard to securely put in place. Pan/tilt work good and tighten into place just fine. It has a centerpost so for those that need to get super low to the ground keep this in mind. Overall I like this tripod but would like to see an improved design in the quick release area.

    Surprisingly good value for people on a budget.

    Not the lightest but still worthy of being considered a "travel" tripod. If you want ultra-light in this form factor, you might want to look at carbon fiber, but also look at paying 4-5 times as much just for the legs. For what I primarily use it for - real estate and landscape - it suits my needs just fine and I don't mind carrying it around with me all day. The included ball head - a 494RC2 - is plenty sturdy enough for a D850 + battery grip and relatively hefty lenses like the 24-70 VR. Zero creep even at awkward angles. Use a 70-200 FL or any other heavier zooms or primes and you'll want to upgrade to a sturdier head made for heavier glass. The legs, on the other hand, feel like they could adequately handle a heavier setup with ease.
