George Gershwin Lives Again in this Wonderful Bio-Pic
Robert Alda gives a creditable performance as America's great composer, George Gershwin. His Rhapsody has lived and will live on through eternity and so will the many show tunes and standards he left us. Joan Leslie, Oscar Levant, Albert Bassermann, Alexis Smith and the rest of the cast are wonderful as well and help to move the story along. We lost Gershwin all too soon but the music he wrote still fills our hearts. Levant was a personal friend of Gershwin's. Loved this movie! I was shocked to find how many older songs I knew and that they were all written by George Gershwin!! I sang my way through much of this entertaining movie. Loved the story line and was so impressed to learn of G. Gershwin's journey through his life.
