    Great Mold, Well made, A Real Bargain.

    All you need to add to the 6 cavity Lee mold is a set of handles which I already had. After a good cleaning and smoking the mold with wood matches it began casting bullets. In just a few minutes the mold heated up to the same temp as the melting pot and we were off to the races. I made about 200 nice bullets in a short time. I only needed 50 but was having so much fun I just kept casting

    Base of bullet is over size

    This is the second one of these molds I have bought I contacted Lee and was told that the base of this cast bullet should be .284" both of my molds case a bullet with a base dia. of .290"+ or - .002" This makes it very hard to find the correct size gas check also the bullets are out of round by about .002"+ The out of round is no big deal for me because I size them down to .3095" from the cast dia. of .314 Now on the plus side they cast a very good looking bullet at a rate of about 600 to 700 per hour and they like it hot just before they look frosty. I'm going to try a hi-tek coating or powder coat without a gas check and see how they shoot. As a last resort I guess I could open up the bottom of the mold and get rid of the gas check.     Decent mold

    Pretty good mold - it casts best at high temperatures of alloy (800F or so) and does so cleanly. I wish Lee made a 125gr or so mold, but until then this will suffice.

    Good quality & high throughput

    I had already the 2-cavity mold of the same design. The Lee 6-cavity molds are built significantly better. I mark each cavity, however I find very limited weight variation between the various cavities.
