    A Nice Change From "In The Box!"

    After 25+ years of DAW mixing with a mouse and keyboard, I'm really enjoying the hands-on approach to using my DAW. Most of my audio workflow centers around recording and mixing live bands in a multitrack format. I record with a console, but have always mixed only with the computer. Using the Mackie MCU Pro has given me a more intuitive feel for the music as I'm mixing it, in addition to speeding up the workflow a bit. I particularly like the transport controls, and being able to tap the rewind button to go back 10 seconds when I miss something or want to listen to it again. I knew there would be a learning curve with weaning myself off of the mouse and keyboard, so I wrote up a cheat sheet of the commands I would use most often, and keep it by the console as I work.     Solid piece of gear

    I was looking for a control surface to control my DAW - Samplitude Pro X3. After researching many contenders, I concluded the Mackie MCU PRO was the best for my needs. This unit is built like a tank, and compliments my high end DAW perfectly. I especially like the fact that I can customize it exactly to suit my specific needs. It also works perfectly directly out of the box. I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to many years of production with it. Oh, it also serves very well as a control surface for my video editing software as well.
