I picked up a used HTC one S for Tmobile to replace a Galaxy 4G. I chose this phone as a "bang for the buck" phone. Due to the successful marketing by Samsung, the used market for this phone is much cheaper than the Galaxy III or even the II. PROS: Snappy. Apps run great, and I tend to have a lot of running processes. No problem. Good camera, good screen, good size for your pocket good overall. I didn't love HTC sense, so I went back to my favorite GO Launcher. All the effects run nicely. CONS: The screen is a nice size for the pocket, but now that I've seen bigger screens, I'm starting to think I could make good use of that screen real estate. HTC paid a lot of attention to design. Beautiful aluminum, etc. But the back just looks junky. This is a great modern phone, but people think I have an old phone now. This phone is REALLY slippery and hard to hold. I guess it also has to do with buttons or something. The way I have to hold the phone makes it in constant danger of being dropped. After 4 years of owning various smart phones, this is the first time I've cracked my screen! This screen is $169 just to buy the screen. Then you get to replace it. Call reception was pretty bad, but got better after I dropped it. I'm not sure if that is coincidence, my perception, or what, but it seems that this phone doesn't have the best phone reception.Read full review
This is the first 'smart phone' I have ever owned. That being said the battery life is terrible. Maybe that's because I can't stop playing with this thing. It can do everything and much much more. I find myself using for all sorts of things I never even imagined I could use a phone for. The calender is amazing. Internet is blazing fast. (T-mobile pre-paid) Customization is great so far but I'm still digging into settings to tweak my battery usage. Super slim and super light. Buy a $10 soft gel case and screen protector it will save your phone. Android apps are just as good if not better than Apple. I've already had several people ask me if this was an Iphone 5. I like that all I had to do was pop in my sim card and was ready to rock. I don't like that there is no expandable memory slot. I will probably not like the fact the battery cannot be removed in a year or so when my battery no longer holds a charge. The mini usb charger is nice since so many other phones use them they are a dime a dozen. Camera is very good for a cell phone. Still shots are taken fast and come out clear. Video is also excellent. Was at a concert a few days ago and sound came out very clear. Ringer could be louder as well as the ear piece. The screen is very bright and beautiful but max brightness setting will make mince meat of your battery. Face to face calling works great through Google but after just a few days of collecting lint from my pocket the front camera lens is pretty filthy.Read full review
I brought this product to use with a prepaid service. The phone is kinda small in size, so if you have big hands, you may not like the screen size of this phone. Overall nice display and nice camera and the phone itself is incredibly thin.the device appeared smaller than my samsung galaxy nexus which was a surprise.
I LOVE my phone! I finally upgraded from my HTC G2 and am quite pleased with this phone's performance. From the Beats audio to the motion picture camera, I'm blown away by this phone's abilities. The only complaint I have is the battery which drains pretty quick but you can just install a battery saver (Easy Battery Saver is the one I use) and you'll be fine. Also you'll need a micro SIM card instead of the regular one. I didn't want to risk messing up my SIM card that I have by cutting the plastic off so I just went ahead and bought one for $25 instead. Besides those things, I can't seem to get this phone out of my hands (which are kind of small and the phone is very big so I sorta have a struggle with texting!) !!!
I LOVE my new phone! It has amazing speed. The display is wonderful and he camera is Incredible! My boyfriend has an iPhone and has always been teasing be about the fact that I don't have an iPhone (even though I've never wanted one) and my pictures kick his pictures' butts. It is so light and small, even with a bulky protective case. All new phone coming out now are huge... I don't understand that. I picked this phone because of its size and it's amazing features and it was SO worth it. The battery is better than the phone I used to have. The battery lasts about a day and a half. Two days if you use it very little, one day if you're streaming or on phone calls all day.
Great phone for sound, text, pictures, videos. Perfect size even for my 15 month old son. Bright screen . Easy to figure out how to use the phone. I naught this phone because it was recommend to me I will recommend it to you. You can personalize it to you and make it work the best and most convenient way for you. The speaker phone is loud and clear some of the other phones that I have had have not been this clear. So clear that I have to turn down the volume. The only thing I wish was better on this phone was the battery life It seems to only last 1+ days before charging. But its one of those this you have to deal with.
I appreciated knowing what I was getting going in. I don't mind the blurry camera, I don't use it much. Actually not blurry, more of a pinkish tinge to everything. I was never that impressed with my old HTC's camera's quality either.

I have had experience with three of HTC One S's. Two of them had problems with power buttons-not just the outer cover but the plastic push pin inside(it may fall off). When the power button is dead it becomes a dead phone! Its micro USB port is another big problem. It connects loosely initially and may get worse over the course of its life. Fixing the USB port is expensive because the USB port is connected on the motherboard. sometimes the whole motherboard is at risk. As time goes by, I had either charging or phone not recognized by computer problems. I believe HTC should recall all the HTC One S for these annoying issues. Pro: 1. thin and light, 2. runs fast and smooth,3. nice screen. Cons 1. weak power button, 2.weak micro usb port, 3.no external micro SD port, 4. none replaceable battery, 5. slow android updateRead full review
Great phone, easy to use, great apps, good battery life, not laggy at all, GREAT quality on camera, and able to do a lot of things on this phone. However, the only downfall of this phone is the memory card, it's not a removable memory card, it's built in so once you break this phone, you basically can say bye bye to your memory unless you back it all up in drop box and other apps. Love this phone a lot, broke my previous HTC one S and I just had to buy the same phone again.
I was looking for a cheap smartphone, so I didn't mind that this might be a few generations behind. The phone didn't come exactly as I expected it to. The memory hadn't been wiped and there was a passcode still in use via an app. I ended up locking myself out and needed to take the phone in because factory reset didn't work and the phone seems to already have been tampered with. It would have been more than it was worth if the t-mobile guy hadn't been able to fix it. For what I paid, I'm happy with the phone.
