I've never owned a ds before but got to use my friends'......so many memories that I get to relive. The price isn't bad either. And it comes with extra stuff so I'd say it's a pretty good deal. Battery lasts a good while too so that's always a plus.

It works fine, however, the left trigger button sticks (which can be a little annoying when in the middle of a fast paced game), and the bottom GBA port cover is missing.

This is a great game system. With the Nintendo DS Lite, a stylus is used on most of the game play making it for a unique, fun experience. So far, all the games I've purchased for it have been easy to use. The only problem that I have come across is that some of the pixels don't have color on the screen making it appear as if you have a "dot" or something in the screen...ie..lint or dust spot. The other problem I have run into is the stylus not being completely smoothe and therefore making it feel a little scratchy on the screen. I easily exchanged my Nintendo DS for one w/out a pixel problem and was good to go after that. It's a fun game system and the sound quality is great, too. I have the black one and I'm not sure what type of material is used for the casing, but it's that kind of platic material that picks up every single fingerprint, kind of annoying in my opinion but I'm sure not bothersome to most. As will all game systems, the accessories are pretty pricey. Once you buy one thing, you're going to want another, so get the pocket book ready. YourPerfectFitRead full review
If you do not have a DS or DS Lite, the DSi would be a great update for any gamer. Just like the Lite, The DSi compact and features an awesome and enjoyable touch screen! Unfortunately (for some), the DSi does not have the GBA slot like the Lite does. Some may not mind, but others will find it aggravating that their GBA games cannot be used in this system anymore. But, you are still able to play those games, as long as they are bought through the Nintendo Shop just like on the Wii. Another thing about the DSi is that the battery life is not as lengthy as the Lite. It does NOT have poor battery life, just quite a bit shorter than the Lite. Exploring the internet on this system is also handy as long as you are in a place with free wifi.
I've had my DS Lite for about a month now, and I've been pretty happy with it overall. The battery seems to live forever, no matter how much I play. I have the Browser card and WiFi USB adapter, and the online webpages open fairly quickly and are crystal clear. I can go anywhere in the house and not lose signal. The only complaint is that you CAN view photos, but not video. After spending so much on accessories to get it online, I don't think I'd be willing to buy yet another accesory just to view videos on it. So, for gaming, it's great...you can play DS games, or spend a little less and buy Gameboy Advance games and play those on the Lite. The battery lasts longer than any other gaming system I've ever used. The screens are bright and the stereo speakers are crystal. Overall, I'd say the DS Lite is a great value. For those who say it breaks too easily, they must be careless in their use of it, because mine is holding up just fine. My advice...if you are buying for a child, buy the original DS system. That one is a bit thicker and can hold up to more abuse.Read full review
A great system to find second-hand on ebay, especially now that most will be selling their originals so they can get the new 3DS (which is really impressive, but a bit too $$ for me at this time). Nintento continues to master the market of fun family and platform games with some action and RPG thrown in. It doesn't compete with Playstation when it comes to more complicated "adult" games for hardcore gamers and movie capabilities, but those who know and love nintendo won't complain. Like the Wii and its motion controller, there's lots of fun simple games that utilize the special feature of dual screens with a touch sensitive bottom one. For example Cooking Mama will have you killing hours of downtime with slicing, chopping and stirring. I reccomend getting a browser cartridge for internet surfing and If you're tech savy a R4 card and a micro sd card so you can store and play the ROMs of any and every game on one cartridge.Read full review
I would say that this game is really easy to use and anybody would love it you could have fun playing the game and even buying accessories for it. Although the DSi offers much more fun and gaming experience it has a camera on both sides, and know there is an even a bigger one (DSi XL). But the 3Ds... thats amazing you can even take pictures and they look 3D, also listen to music and so much more. Probably there will be other newer versions of this gaming console, but I have to say that they are amazingly fun to play with, and also portable so you can take it wherever you go!
At firs, I thought the DS was a kiddie, weaksauce system. I used to rock a Gameboy a lot back in the day, so I had kind of out grown the handheld video game system when the DS first came out. But recently, I decided to buy one just for kicks, and in all honesty, I am glad to say I was very wrong. The graphics on the DS are a few notches above PS1/N64 quality, so if you want to look at something pretty, go with a PSP. But the games and touch screen are what make the DS very solid. There are a lot of quality games in the DS that really utilize the dual screen system to their advantage. It's a very engaging format in that respect. The DS Lite itself, as far as I can gather, is a more streamlined version of the regular. The WiFi works well and the system isn't so small that you need to break out the reading glasses or anything.Read full review
Symbol Technology of the grandiose Nintendo, we find its newest baby, the Nintendo DS LITE. Heir to the legendary current GameBoy, the NDS Lite is a jewel conceptual design and technology, and although it sounds like a miniature Apple PowerBook long parade their well-placed buttons and dual-screen system being one of them touch LCD with excellent resolution. The ability to play music files and video is still in process and ongoing development by third parties, but still works with high fidelity. Their classic Nintendo games are renewed and new ones very interesting and although it does not have a graphics accelerator noteworthy, if we can say that is something that entertains and easy to carry, at least more than his father, the original NDS. Finally, the NDS Lite is an excellent choice for portable gameplay and connectivity directly to the Nitendo Wii make a real piece of the collection could not leave best Japanese hands.Read full review
Bought this for my husband for xmas as he travels *constantly* and it's a pain for him to get out his laptop every time. The kids told me he'd never use it. HAHAHA - I win! He hasn't put it down since he opened it this morning and says it'll b really handy and accessible for him on his flights and overnights at the job site. Very compact, easy to use. Got a couple of basic games on sale at Walmart as well as an accessory kit with the money I saved buying the DS at iPod Store (plus a little bit extra). Totally worth it. We'll see what kinds of games he ends up picking out for himself. But so far, so good.
