Has a ton of new options and has definately improved the dynasty mode. You now have the option of doing school work while playing college football, and can use improvements in your school work to improve your gameplay....which is awesome. Pretty much you have a choice during the weekdays after class, you can either run drills and get rating points, or you can study with your tudor for your midterm/final exam. You really do take the tests too, and if you fail them, then your GPA drops and you have a chance of losing your scholarship. Another great thing is that if you like running your defense they now have it so that you can get a good jump on the ball and topple the offensive line. You just press the "X" key when you think the ball will be snapped and if you get a good jump you'll plow over your defender and have the possibility for a sack or even force a fumble. Everything else though is exactly like NCAA 06. I know I bought mine for like $54, but I don't think after buying it that it's worth that much since it's pretty much a copy of 06 with a few minor improvements. (all the commentaries are exactly the same too) All in all...this game is worth at the most about 29.99, don't go any higher....rent it and see if you think the same. And please help me out and rate this review helpful...good luck and thank you!!Read full review
The 07 version of this game does offer some nice upgrades over previous years, but overall it is still rather similar. The campus legend mode, in my opinion, is a million times better than the old Heisman mode. I particularly like it because you can become a legend while playing defense, while you had to have an ENORMOUS year before to win a Heisman on defense. Dynasty mode also has some nice improvements. I think recruiting is slightly more realistic this year as well. I love the NCAA football series and would buy it almost no matter what the price, but I def. wish this game sold for $30 rather than $40 or $50. Either way, if you are a college football fan you will love this game.
The NCAA games have always lived somewhat in the shadow of the Madden games, as college football has always taken a backseat to the pros. I have played both NCAA 06 and 07, and I can tell you, either is a fantastic buy. In 07, there are plenty of things to keep 06 players happy with new developments. The Race for the Heisman has been greatly augmented. Now you have to juggle schoolwork, football practice, and point distribution. On the other hand, they make it fairly easy to become an amazing superstar player. The gameplay in the new game is very... difficult. Running the ball is not nearly as easy as last year, where a spin to a juke could get you a touchdown easy. The audibles take too long to carry out, however realistic it is. The hot routes are excellent, and are actually affected by the weather. For example, if it's pouring rain, your receiver will come closer to the QB to try to hear. The precision passing system is impressive, and follows an almost madden like quality. The players still don't catch amazingly bad throws though. Defensive linemen is now my favorite defensive position. You can anticipate the snap, and press the A button(xbox), to jump off of the line, sometimes bowling over an offensive lineman. Player stats play a much bigger role, as there is now a huge difference between a 90 speed player and a 99 speed player. There is also hours and hours of time to be lost in playing dynasty mode with a couple of friends and user-created teams. I hope this review helped you out.Read full review
I like the fact that the game has bette flow. The controls are familiar and nothin changed too much to you have to re learn eveything. How ever the running game is still not what I would like. The option plays are fine but my main back can rarely break out for big run on at least average runs.
One feature that is very unique about the game is that you get to study a major. I believe that is one of the best features yet created for this game. Not only do you get to create your own character, but you also get to practice and study with him and if you dont want to study you can always go chill with a social group. One negative aspect of the game would have to be how you do not get to control the other players. In legend mode you are only focused in on one person; yourself. I would like to be able to control all of the players and it gets annoying having to put your best players in everytime for a game. Other than that the game is excellent and very amusing.
