At this moment this locomotive has really let me down, it's not as powerful as I thought it was going to be. I have been "Youtubing", looking for a solution. I did find that a possibility is that it might need to get cleaned (gears). I've learned that if it has too much lubricant and grease that it can cause it to loose power. I'm going to try this and hopefully just hopefully this will fix the problem. If it doesn't then I'm stuck with a let down, but I am keeping my hopes up.

I have a number of Athearn PAs & PBs. They are among the best running engines I have. They are typical Athearn engines, the growl and rattle but the pull like crazy. All six axels are powered. I have heard people say that they will not run on 18" radius curves - they are wrong. All of early Athearn engines were designed to run on the most common sectional curve track, 18" radius. My test track for my DCC'd engines is a loop that has 18" "S" curves and they run fine. If they don't then I know something is binding and correct it. I would recommend Athearn PAs to anyone that is looking for a very nice engine.
