Disney Studios were in their infancy when a book about a deer was proposed. It was nixed multiple times as being doubtful to have an audience and whether the gore and truth of the forest was something the public would accept. This is the story of the struggles to make the movie, Bambi. I love this book for the vast numbers of illustrations and images that went into making the story what we saw on the screen. It is such a wonderful window into a time when the success of movies was not so easy and everything was an experiment. Today every movie just follows one from before it. Appreciate Bambi as the original it was. Wonderful book.
