I had to purchase a special 2nd generation ipod shuffle dock and an older USB hub in order for any of my newer computers to recognize the device. Only $7 more for the additional items, but at least now it works and for much less than a brand new shuffle.

One should think twice about buying a used battery-driven device. Mine sounded fine while is lasted for a few months but then would die after a few minutes of use. The Apple store reported that the battery was used up and there are no replacements. One can buy the latest Ipod shuffle for around $50. I won't be buying a used one in the future.

The 2nd generation ipod shuffle is by far my favorite to date. - The controls are simple and very easy to use unlike the newer 3rd generation ipod shuffle that doesn't have controls on it and requires the use of buttons on the headphones. - The included dock makes it very easy to connect to your itunes and upload plenty of music on it for the gym. - The only drawback if any is that the gold version only comes in 1gb, but that still has proven to be enough for a pretty decent workout mix. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. It works great and the gold finish looks awesome!
its easy to use and carry while im working and it holds all my favorite songs

Product does not work. I charged it, plugged it into the computer w/ the USB port, opened Itunes, and a warning popped up saying the product was "corrupted" and to "revert to factory settings". I did this, plugged it back in and it will not upload songs. A total waste of time and $.
