    MagLite upgrade

    With all the Led lights available on the market today I thought there must an LED upgrade for my Trusty Old MagLite. Well, there is a BRIGHT one.....! NITE IZE has a LED bulb made just for your MagLite no matter the battery size or count. This is an easy install and will make your Maglite whiter and what seems to be 3 times brighter. At this point I can't find anything bad with this product.

    White light, yes - Brighter, no

    It's a good upgrade indeed. White light increases the contrast (or at least it's perception) when lighting things in the dark but I cannot say that the light is more intense. When I turned the flashlight on after installing it I have to say I was a little bit dissapointed with the intensity. It might have been down to me not researching enough to find out that these guys have a 75 lumen product, but in any case, I don't think the 55 Lumen one (this one) is something that's going to wow you from a light intensity point of view. (Which was what I was looking for) Get the 75 Lumen one (I guess?)

    Lightweight and Bright

    This is my third one, it replaces the standard bulb w/enough brightness for inside a house, walkway and to scan the backyard for any animals. If you attach one of those color safety cones to your flashlight for road safety it will shine brightly for that purpose also. Another feature it's not overly bright that you can use rechargeable batteries [energizers] with it also and a longer time between charges. Bulb is good for up to 6 battery flashlight, I only use it for a 2-3 battery light. For above purposes I recommend. Any brighter bulb may not work well w/rechargeable batteries.

    Better than old school

    Replacement very easy, no mods necessary. Output is slightly whiter and not significantly brighter. However, anyone who has ever accidently dropped their light and broken a bulb filament can attest, this shouldn't happen with this new LED replacement which does give piece of mind. Bulb focus is also somewhat improved, also being slightly brighter.

    AWESOME !!!

    I've fallen for the LED "conversion" several times only to be disappointed. But not this time this bulb is absolutely the best bulb I've EVER tried. So far I've bought 3 and am about to buy at least one more. Try one, you won't be disappointed. BUT.......watch the polarity, make sure you put the positive on the tip. Check the polarity of your particular light. Hook it up wrong and it's gone!! Hey, that rhymes doesn't it?
