READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTION! This seller polishes turds and sells them. Every item he sells has its specific disclaimers. He says it’s good but the disclaimer will prove otherwise. He is selling salvage at premium prices. His personality has become jaded selling this stuff making him defensive and condescending. Don’t be afraid to call him on his bluff’s! We have been selling mostly items for Parts/ Repair on Ebay for 11 years. We have over 4,400 positive feedback. Our listings DO have very specific details about condition, item testing, etc. This guy doesn't get it. Didn't read details. Bought 2 Kenwood walkie talkies. Good condition. He tried to program them. Didn't know what he was doing, so called them "defective" and demands we accept return. He is a grown man that sells only used bikini tops for teen girls on Ebay. VERY, VERY ODD. BLOCKED!

I purchased this assuming that it powers on as the description said. After receiving, it did not power on and didn't charge. Because it's for parts and repair, I assumed the charge port was the issue. As of today I have paid over $100 just to get a battery and a separate charger (retail would have been over $200). The device still doesn't power on at all. Sellers communication was lackluster at best and then stopped when I wanted a return. Screenshots are from his post. Buyers beware!

    It stays cool and is RF-quiet

    Using it for ham radio. My older linear supply becomes rather hot after a 15min CW (morse) chat. The Samlex SEC 1223 is a switcher and remains cool through 30min at full power where my transceiver draws 20A during "key down". Then the fan comes on so I can go on without it overheating. The fan noise is in my opinion very tolerable, just a strong air rushing but no buzzing sound. It would be nice if it came on gradually but no big deal. Most impressive: It is a single-layer board built around the really old TL494 chip. Yet ... no RF noise that I could find! Hat's off to the designer.

    The parts kit is fine a bad part can happen. Overall satisfied.

    The item is not better than expected, because one mosfet Q1 was defective. I ordered another one and now the power supply works fine.

    Nice power supply. I haven't had any particular problems, but if you're a Ham you might want to consider a model you can tune the birdies away from your frequency with.

    Excellent kit, but you may need more parts

    This kit replaces all of the commonly failed parts in the power supply, however, it does not include the 680uF 200v caps or R17, which is a 1.5 kOHM resistor that feeds 24 volts to the PWM control IC. If you install this kit and the voltage is still jumping around and you hear a slight rattle from the transformer, check for 24 volts on Pin 12 of the IC and R17. Replacing R17 should fix the problem.
