LGA 775 CPU Heat Sink and Cooling Fan
For the price, this is a great cpu fan. It comes with thermopaste already installed. I used this fan on a old Asus P5N32-E-SLI Plus motherboard. The computer was being for a friend to use for web surfing. It is just a 3 pin fan. I used it on a 4 pin motherboard header without any problems. Yes, I would recommend this fan for simple stock fan use. It is quiet, and it even worked when I overclocked a Q6600 to 15 percent. Maintained cool temp without a problem. Did not really put any real stress on the system, but worked well with just surfing the internet. He is not a gaming person, so this should work just fine.For the price, this is a great cpu fan. The backplane provided for this model (Thermaltake CL-P0497 CPU Cooler) does not match the mounting holes on ASUS Intel LGA775 motherboards. Unsuccessful installation was attempted on ASUS P5Pxxx, P5Kxxx, and P5Qxxx series motherboards. Otherwise, this is likely a good product based upon experience with the Thermaltake CL-P0556 CPU Cooler, which is designed for Intel LGA115x series processors. The LGA115x model (CL-P0556) installed perfectly on ASUS motherboards supporting LGA115x processors, and produced good results.The backplane provided for this model (Thermaltake CL-P0497 CPU Cooler) does not match the mounting holes on ASUS Intel LGA775 motherboards. Unsuccessful installation was attempted on ASUS P5Pxxx, P5Kxxx, and P5Qxxx series motherboards. This is an excellent product. The cooler came with applied thermal grease, easily removed for preferred compound if desired. The installation requires a firm hand to hold the cooler in place as it wants to move around while you line up the screws criss-cross fashion with the base. And it does screw down very securely! Using this cooler with a Dual-Core E5800 CPU for moderate use such as web browsing, word processing and spreadsheets, does exactly what it was purchased for. Thank you!This is an excellent product.
