    Marshall DSL20HR head

Amp head arrived in a timely manner, packaged very well, everything looked great. Plugged everything in, turned amp onto standby and kicked the power on. Waited a bit for the tubes to warm up, turned on my volume - and no sound comes out (crackly noises). Tried everything to get it working (except "1" thing). Put my guitar down, and contacted seller. As soon as I hit "send," I had an epiphany. Went out to my music studio and checked - sure enough, forgot to plug the cord into my guitar. 30 years of playing you'd think I'd have known. Long story short, amp works BEAUTIFULLY. has a great crunch.

  • Marshall DSL20HR

I would recommend this MARSHALL tube amp head. It puts a smile on my face every time I have plugged a guitar in it! Humbucker or single coils. I purchased it used with original tubes still in it. And they sound rock solid. I was seriously considering getting the other 20 model but this amp sounded much better imho. Plus ..this dsl20 is way more versatile tone wise and gain wise its crazy. I owned a first issue DSL50 head and never bonded with that head...but I love this little head for my needs which is mostly looping and jamming on my own. I would say in live band situation this amp would hold it's own. Make sure you get the newer model DSL20HR. The older ones i hear are clunkers and don't have the same tone. I myself love plexi type tones and heavier Marshall tones. The clean ...

  • Perfect size , Light weight , Great tone!

Great little amp, loud enough for home use and small gigs. However I did make one change. I replaced the V1 tube with a JJ 12au7 to calm down the gain channel and make it less fizzy! Now I can turn the gain knob up gradually and have smoother control of the gain. I don't think it effected the overall volume too much. It's still loud, but the amp shines when you crank it up anyway.

  • Marshall dsl20hr tube head

I have a variety of tube amplifiers . My music tastes are anything from Surf / British / Pop to Country /Twang /Ska /Rock a Billy to Classic / Heavy Hard Rock / Folk Alternative. I love this little DSL20HR . It's the newer model. Such a sweet sounding and adjustable tone machine with 2- button footswitch included.. Plus...it is very affordable. This amp sounds great into my 2x10 open cab or a 1x12 cab or even my old Marshall 4x12. Their are many great reviews online and its true. Bang for buck / tone & versatility ...this amp won my vote over the Marshall Origin. Thumbs up 👍..Marshall.

  • Worth every penny

I already owned a peavey 6505 MH 20 watt head so I bought this as kind of a impulse. The gain channel 2 is unbelievable and smooth . Plenty of gain and this amp is a LOUD 20 watts. Built like the jubilee 20 watt from marshall.Much different than the peavey mini heads in that department. When you have 3 12ax7 pre amp tubes and 2 el34 power tubes you usually have a 50 watt amp . That is what Marshall did but cut down on the power transformer . I would much rather want this for playing with a drummer. As opposed to the typical el84 power tubes .. The clean channel is ok but I have to play with it more but the cream of this baby is the 2nd channel! Worth the money imo
