Upgraded from the AMD Phenom 9150 1.8GHz that my machine came with about 9 years ago to the AMD Phenom 9750 2.4GHz. Compile time of my largest project went from 48 sec to 34 sec. Even with the "Cool & Quiet" feature enabled the system runs considerably faster after just $25 and 10 min of installation time. Very pleased with this CPU and how quickly I received it.

I only picked this up because its the highest speed quad cpu compatible with my board at 95w. I was upgrading my athlon 7450 dual core on the cheap. This new quad core isnt any amount faster but can perform tasks much easier in my htpc. 1080p with my ancient gt 610 is a lot smoother now. no more weird skipping on YouTube or Netflix. This is all I need for the living room. Even under full load it never reaches 50 so two super low speed quiet fans are barely required. Only way I could rate this better is if it did improve load times but like I said its just for movies and web browsing.

I love the phenom processor; it is plenty fast (2.4Ghz x 4)! Quad-core with 64-bit (Windows 7 - x64)processing really does dramatically improve overall system performance. I am Proudly rated 7.0 in the Windows 7 - Aero Scoring. I can game, watch a DVD, and do my college school work simultaneously. Even with this high work load; the phenom still has yet to show even the vaguest sign of reluctance. Mind that I am also running three displays, each application on it's own. I would highly (extremely) recommend an ATi Radeon HD series video card (4650 or up) to properly compliment this inspiring CPU. I have found that this combination of hardware is very well balanced. I can successfully run most (90% of) games at x8 Anti-Aliasing with the resolution at 1440x900x32@75hz(720p HD - HDMI). Both the Phenom and the HD Radeon combined with a good ASUS motherboard, makes for a really mean machine, just add a Creative sound card and you'll be banging too!Read full review
I got this CPU used for $56. For the money, this little CPU romps. I'll be replacing this CPU with a Phenom II 945, but I don't expect monstrous changes in doing so. I just want to max out my little AM2+ board since I've already sucessfully flashed my BIOS. Let me tell you, though, that this little processor flies. It scores a flat 7.0 in Windows 7 Experience rating. That's pretty darn tootin' when you consider that it only runs at 95W and I do not overclock it at all. If you have a chance to get one of these at a fair price and you have a MOBO that needs one, grab it and smile all the way home with it.
Dropped this CPU from ebay into an old e-machines computer, the extra 3 cores and extra speed made the computer as fast as a brand new one (with an additional memory upgrade).

Upgraded from a phenom 9500 quad core. Runs great, can play Dragon Age Origins on pc with a Radeon HD 5670 and 4 gigs of RAM with no slowdown on very high settings. Just BE SURE to disable TLB patch (google TLB patch disabler, or do it in BIOS if your BIOS has the capability), otherwise you'll be running this bad boy at only 60% speed or so.
I went from a single core to this Quad core and had very noticeable speed increases and stability .. The only limitation I see are games evolving that require a minimum of a i5 or i7 processor but for a older computer this can do just as good as a custom built PC.. Works Great .

Works well in compatible computers. I recently installed a new Phenom quad-core in a windows 8 machine with 16GB DDR3 RAM. It works well for being a low budget machine. I recently bought another CPU in case if I decide to build another PC. I do not recommend buying copy's used because I have had multiple instancesin which they arrive with bent or broken pins and are no longer function able.
Bring true quad-core computing to your socket AM2+ motherboard. I dropped this it to replace an aging 4200+ Dual-core. What a difference in Windows 7! The WEI went from a measly 4.9 to 7.0 out of a possible 7.9. I had to check the manufacturers CPU support list to find that right CPU. I thought I was limited to dual-cores until I saw support for the 9750 Agena quad-core.
I have a slightly older motherboard so my cpu shopping was limited and a lot how are compatible with my motherboard were actually more expensive than some of the newer ones. This processor was a good balance of value to performance. I would highly recommend this processor if you don't do anything completely processor heavy. I can transcode full 1080 p hd movies to my x box and stream over my network with this processor. All modern games work fine like diablo 3 battlefield 3.
