A very useful though niche e HO automatic knuckle coupler
The sole replacement knuckle coupler for old Rivarossi, IHC, and old Concor HO passenger cars E Bay, Esty and Horizon Hobbies are the sole source for these couplers Most hobby shops brick and mortar and internet hobby shops are unaware that these couplers are still available. These couplers are imported by the Mc Henry Coupler Div of Athearn, a wholly owned subsidiary of Horizon Hobbies The couplers are fragile and easily break and frequently lose coupler springs. But they are the sole snap into truck in replacement for horn hook couplers and for this are a very valuable coupler for the model-erf with these passenger cars who wish to retain truck mounted couplers. Until they break, they work very well for passenger trains of 6 cars or less and reliably remain coupled ... I j have orders 30 sets of these couplers to maintain my IHC, Rivarossi and Con Cor HO passenger cars with knuckle coupler operation Plastic couplers are useful in preventing a passenger car with metal trucks from shorting out a locomotive leading to expensive repair (as you might guess a metal truck Athearn express reefer with kadees shorted through the metal couple on a BLI steamer damaging the steamer and requiring expert repairf and almost shorted out a BLI EA loco, plastic couplers would have prevented this damage

Direct replacement parts solve issues
Converting from one coupler style to another is easier when using an effective replacement that has original factory specifications involved. I've used several conversions to improve links between old rolling stock and have come to appreciate this device for a particular manufacturer's cars. Replacing horn hook couplers
These couplers make it easy to upgrade older IHC passenger cars. There is still a big problem with these cars being way too light, so the problems do not end with the easy coupler replacement.
