Product Information

Soldier Kyle Reese travels from the distant future to 1984 Los Angeles to protect a young woman named Sarah Connor in this console adaptation of James Cameron's cult film. Designed as a platform shooter, the Master System version has you controlling Kyle through a total of five levels. Climb ladders, leap across ledges, and do battle with a number of enemies, both man and machine, while being relentlessly pursued by a futuristic assassin known as the Terminator, portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie. Use a combination of machine gun fire and grenades to defeat the opposition. Prevent the Terminator from fulfilling his objective to win the game.

My only issue was the item was filthy out of the box, which required me to give it a deep clean. If you like frustrating games, Turrican is it
I wasn't too sure what to think of Turrican when my friend brought it over. I never heard about it before, but the box looked pretty cool and the name had a certain mystique to it. When I got to play it, Turrican didn't play like a standard action platformer. Turrican is slightly above the average Genesis game graphically. The main character looks cool, but stiff. The enemy and character sprites seemed small; they weren't much bigger than some 8-bit games. The levels are detailed, but not particularly amazing. The graphics just seemed bland and unexciting compared to other games. The music is rather good. It has a techno/cyber punk tone that goes well with the theme of the game. The controls felt stiff making manuvering the character difficult at times. One major flaw is the fact that if you are hit or standing on something dangerous, you won't know until you actually die since your energy was being drained without you noticing. Turrican isn't a terrible game by any means. It can be a bit fun when you are able to get used to the gameplay. The soundtrack was what kept me playing despite numerous frustrating deaths. If you want a challeng, I would definately recommend Turrican. If you are looking for something that is more balanced and polished, Turrican won't do much for you.

Lightweight with great features
The game works, it plays well and looks good in terms of pros. In terms of cons, the price was expensive, the plot description for the game given on eBay doesn't seem accurate and as far as I can tell, it doesn't have anything do with Terminator.

Turrican tough!
Be ready for a challenge when taking on this game. As with many older games, Turrican will take fast reflexes and time to learn it's complexities. Don't expect to pick it up and master it on your first try. I can say that as you get further into the game and beat it, you will feel accomplished. Good luck, be patient and hold back your frustration.
