Great book for beginning knitters
I bought Baby Knits for Beginners by Debbie Bliss because I borrowed the book from the library and had to return it before I finished the work I started. I really enjoy using this book. I started knitting about 6 months ago and got tired of only being able to knit scarves. I decided to widen out. This book allows the beginning knitter to create a more interesting piece in a short amount of time. Because each piece is for a baby, less yarn is used and if it looks good, it can even be a gift to someone who just had a baby. Each lesson teaches a different stitch and that new stitch is used to make a garment. The one thing I don't like is that Debbie Bliss wants you to use her yarn. That's great, but I buy my yarn from craft stores, and it's hard to find her brand or find another that ... I will be making many of the patterns for they are a well chosen selection.
It is truly a product for beginners for the patterns are simple but classics. I bought it so that I would have a collection of patterns that I could knit for gifts. I wish the patterns went a little larger than 18 months but maybe there is a sequel for toddlers. I like that it had a variety of styles.
