Second favorite game of all time, second only to Gravity Rush 2, mechanics are so much fun to play with, good story and fun characters.

Gravity Rush is a brand new IP created by Japan Studios. The game started off back in 2008 as a PlayStation 3 project called "Gravité" but was later moved to the Vita. Through my experience with many Vita games (As I own a Vita), I can safely say that this is one of those "must play/must own" games on the PlayStation Vita. You control a young woman named Kat, who wakes up in the floating city of Heksville, with no recollection of her past or where she came from. She then runs into a mysterious black cat, who she later names Dusty, that gives her the power to control gravity. The gameplay revolves around the use of gravity, which is used for flying around in "Zero-G", walking on walls, and thrusting "Gravity kicks" toward enemies to deal damage. The user can collect purple gems which can be used to level up Kat's abilities as well as to unlock fun challenges throughout Heksville. The game goes through the many missions that Kat undertakes to protect the people of Heksville from the black Nevi monsters, the main enemies in the game. The game goes a little in depth into who Kat is and where she came from but apart from a few lines from some characters, that's about it. But what the game lacks in a story filled with depth, it makes up for it with it's amazingly fun gameplay. You will love controlling Kat through the sections of Heksville, diving through the sky, clinging on to walls. Heksville is a surprisingly immense city, and you discover a lot just flying and walking around. The combat is also surprisingly fun, but it can sometimes be a bit hard. The enemies are not too hard, which makes landing Gravity Kicks and Special Moves easier. Bosses can get a little tricky as you have to constantly re-position yourself to land a Gravity Kick from the constant movement. Other than that, they're not too frustratingly hard and I enjoyed the ending scene of Kat finishing off a boss. Overall, I enjoyed the game very much. It has an amazing orchestral score and Kat is a very lovable character that you can relate to. After finishing the game's main quest, I was left with wanting to know more about Kat, which I hope a sequel will reveal. If you're still left with wanting more after finishing the main story line, you can purchase DLC packs which contain more missions, side quests and clothing for Kat. They run at $3.99 and will be released pretty soon. To conclude this review, if you have a PlayStation Vita (and if you don't, you should definitely buy one) and want to have an incredible, original game, than Gravity Rush is just right for you!Read full review
