    Top-knotch home serger

Purchased this as a back-up to my current Viking 905. They just don't make this model anymore and parts are non-existent. Good quality higher-end home serger. Compact design and solid construction with real metal parts. Easy to use and maintain. Haven't found any other makes or models that I prefer.

  • Husqvarna 905 or 910...nothing better on the planet.

Love this machine...want to purchase at least one more. That way I could have one with dark thread and the other for lighter threads. I cannot say enough good things about this serger! I wish Husqvarna had not stopped making this type. The newer models do not have a free-arm and don't seem to be as tough of a workhorse as this one. I know. I have been making costumes for 5 different Theatres and 2 Ballet companies. This is the BEST I have ever worked with , and I have used 15 different kinds of sergers, in the last 25 years.

  • This machine is NOT computerized! I know as I have one, use it frequently & love it.

It is a very good, NON computerized, quality machine and as with any type of sewing apparatus and/or appliance, vehicle, etc., it MUST BE CLEANED and cared for per instructions in its manual! I've had mine for many years and it's a great work horse. Lint & dust buildup can affect any machines functioning ability if not taken care of. So many times machines fail and it's possibly due to inadequate care such as, cleaning & oiling. I have several (16) sewing machines, and another serger (New Home 234) from 1937 to this one purchased in the early 2000's, HV 905 serger and take great care of each one with regular inspections & oiling, even if it hasn't been used for an extended time. Machines, as people do, need good care or they will work poorly just as folks will will get 'funky' if not cared ...

  • Great for beginners as well as more advancced sewers!

I have another one of these, so this one will help out when I need two different colors of threads; and as a back up when my other one is getting cleaned. These models of Huskylock sergers work great and are quite a bit quieter than some of the newer models. Haven't really had any problems with my older one, and I have had it for at least 5 or 6 years now, with lots of use. The other good thing is that if there is a Joann Fabrics with a Husqvarna store or a local Viking store, you can sign up for classes to help you learn how to use the unit properly. I would highly recommend this - especially for beginners.

  • Easy to thread!!!

Found this model to be quiet and very sturdy. So easy to thread compared to several other sergers I've owned over the years. Didn't want extra bells and whistles, that I probably wouldn't use or need. Just more possible trips to service or repair. I use my bernina sewing machine for all of my other sewing and finishing touches. You can get some great deals barely used, just ask about it's history.
