I've used H&R Block's tax software for years because it is thorough and very easy to use. The interview covers everything and uses very clear and unambiguous language. I tried TurboTax one year just to see what I was missing. Not only was it considerably more expensive but there were 2 parts of the interview that left me scratching my head because of the confusing way the question was worded. This left me feeling very unsettled. I never had this experience with H&R Block.

I've been using H & R Block tax software, formerly known by another name, for years and have been extremely happy with the product. It couldn't be easier to simply follow the step-by-step instructions. With all the helpful information that is also provided, I don't think anyone can go wrong. We use the premium version because we have rental property and one of us is self employed. You can very seamlessly download your financial information and employment documentation from most national institutions. It is a puzzle to me why anyone would pay an accountant to do their taxes when the only skill needed to do your own return is the ability to read and follow directions! You must gather all the forms necessary to present to the tax 'professional', so why can't you just key in this same information on the affordable software and save yourself hundreds of dollars?
