    Cheap upgrade over on-board graphics - provides great HD video capabilities

    This card isn't going to wow anyone with it's performance in new games or graphics-intensive design programs. I bought it because I wanted a discrete solution for watching videos on my computer while the computer is doing other things. It's really only a slight upgrade from on-board graphics, but that's all that's really needed. I can now watch HD videos, even several at the same time (though I'm not sure why I would want to, but I tried anyway), without drawing from system memory. I've also tried a few older games on it, and it performs quite well. It has a huge heatsink on it in lieu of a fan, which keeps it quiet, which is pretty awesome. I wish it would run cooler, but it seems never to go above 50 degrees C, which I guess isn't woefully out of control. In short, it's a quiet, really ...

    Silent but Deadly LOL Nah but fanless is great

    The ATI Radeon HD 4550 512mb card is a great card for those who would like to improve their performance without spending 2 much money. It's not a great gamer card even though it gets a 6.3 on the windows experiance index in gaming and business performance. Where this card really shines is video acceleration, you could be running a core solo or an atom processor (if you have a PCIe slot on the atom board) and you could playback pretty much anything you could throw at it. H.264 performance is excellent where older cards like the x1600 still let you use up most of your system resources this powerhouse can decode 1080p video without your processor cracking the 10% mark (based on a c2d 4300 clocked to 2.5ghz) if you need a boost in video playback performance and have an avalible pci-e slot this ...

    Cheap Graphics Card

    I only use it to record JVC HD Cam Corders with Adobe OnLocation I got it because there is no fan and because of that 100% silent for studio work. It only takes up 1 PCIE place where all the other non fan graphocs cards take up 2. Placed it in a shoe box computer from shuttle, no idea on how it plays games but I don't use it for that.

    Great low-priced card!

    If you are looking for a low-end, low-priced video card with high-end performance, then look no further. I just recently grabbed one of these (used) and it's the perfect video card for a backend HTPC system (especially when the mobo is also Gigabyte :) or even for a frontend one with an HDMI connection.

    Nice for quite HTPC

    Nice for quite HTPC, older model, good enough to upgrade an older system. No fan needs a case fan for cooling.
