Le Pan II Android Tablet is comparable to iPad II at better price.
The LePan II Android Tablet is a high quality product from an unknown manufacturer. Let me first tell you that I have owned both an iPad II and the Le Pan II for over a year. I will use the iPad II for comparison because it's obviously a product that more people are familiar with and because the iPad II is clearly the market that LePan was going after. I won't compare operating systems because if you prefer iOS then put simply you are looking at the wrong product. When it comes to size, things are pretty even because they are almost the same dimensions. With weight it's a different story, since the weight difference is noticeably in favor of the iPad II, but the Le Pan is still comfortable in the hand. As for the operating system, as I mentioned before if you like iOS ... The LePan II Android Tablet is a high quality product from an unknown manufacturer. Let me first tell you that I have owned both an iPad II and the Le Pan II for over a year. I will use the iPad II for comparison because it's obviously a product that more people are familiar with and because the iPad II is clearly the market that LePan was going after. As for the operating system, as I mentioned before if you like iOS then you want an iPad, but if you want Android, then this tablet has an up to date version that works flawlessly on this device. When it comes to the processor; it is actually better on the LePan II than the iPad II and I can definitely tell the difference between the two when it comes to streaming videos, web pages and apps. Battery life is clearly in favor of the iPad II, but that's no surprise since they dominate most other tablets in this area. For value the LePan II wins hands down since it runs $150-$200 dollars cheaper than the iPad II and the product quality is just as good. Screen resolution is identical, but I notice that at full brightness, the LePan is brighter which may explain why it eats up the battery faster. Memory is a tricky area, because the Lepan II has only 8GB on board memory compared to the iPad's 16 GB, however the LePan has a Micro SD slot that you can use to expand the memory an additional 32 GB. This is a huge advantage over the iPad II, because this means you can really have endless memory; since you can put all your movies on 1 SD card, all you music on another, all your photos and documents on another and so on. The cameras are another tricky area, because the iPad II has both front and rear facing cameras compared to the LePan II which has only a front facing camera. This is also a tricky area because the front facing camera that you would use for apps like Skype is pretty much the same, but LePan strategically left out a rear facing camera because it allows them to keep the retail price lower and they gambled that not many people really use the rear camera anyways. To sum it up, this is a high quality product that is on par with the iPad II and in some ways better. I love the product so much that I gave the iPad II to my wife and kids and kept the LePan II for me. Here is a comparison of the Specs mentioned above. Size/Dimension: • 9.29 x 7.44 x 0.48 inches (Approximately .25 inch wider and shorter than iPad II) Weight: • 1.5 lbs (Slightly heavier than iPad II which is 1.33 lbs.) Operation System: • Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (This is the most up to date version of Android OS before Jelly Bean) Processor: • 1.2 GHz Dual-Core (iPad II has only 1 GHz Dual-Core) Battery Life: • 7 hrs (iPad II gets 10 hrs) Value/Price: • $200-$250 (iPad II priced around $400) Screen Resolution: • 1024 X 768 (Same as iPad II) Memory Capacity: • 8GB (Current iPad II comes Standard with 16 GB) • Expand up to aditional 32GB with Micro SD Card (iPad II is not expandable) Cameras: • Front Camera for video chat and other apps. (iPad has a comparable camera.) • LePan II has no Rear Camera (iPad II has a rear facing camera.)

Same size as IPad (9.7"), front camera (no rear camera), screen quality OK but below most tablets 1200x800+, connects to WiFi w/o a problem. Not the fastest, but not the slowest tablet either. Thicker and heavier than an IPad. For the price I pad, OK for basic apps and internet. I like to call it a poor man's IPad although in fairness, costs a lot less. Uses a 30 pin & USB cable for charging.

I recently purchased another Le Pan II (TC979), because I bought one when they first came out, almost 10 yrs ago, and the quality of it was superb. Originally I paid $279 for my first one, at a time when the similar (name brand) iPad 1 and 2 were going for over $500. The biggest advantage the Le Pan II has over the iPad is the fact that it comes with a microSD port, that today, can hold as much as 1TB worth of files, in which I store most of my favorite movies and TV shows. Using that Le Pan 2 sparingly throughout the years, it's battery is still very good today, approaching 2022 (still showing 98% full power) 10 yrs after I bought it! Needless to say, when I found someone selling a Le Pan II tablet that was never used, and still in new condition, for only $80, I couldn't turn down an ... The big reason why I love this unit is because I use it to watch old TV shows (from my WiFi network, as well as on my 1TB MicroSD cards), which were filmed at the 4:3 screen ratio, so instead of seeing a "cropped", small screen image (as would happen if I was to watch these shows on one of the many widescreen tablets they make today), I get to see the entire frame (full screen) on my Le Pan II. It's 1024 x 768 resolution makes for incredibly sharp video images, as well as for digital and scanned pictures I store in digital albums, for slide shows and other presentations. This is one incredible tablet, that went under the radar back in the day, which I'm very happy to still own and use 2 of, today!
