The Coax adapter obviates the needs for a traditional switchbox on most new TVs, provided you can tune to an unused channel 2 or 3 and have alternate connectors for your cable TV, FIOS fiberoptic, or direct form DVR, cable. Not having a switchbox reduces RF interference, which can be a problem on age-degraded input cables from 40-year old Atari computers. The connector significantly reduces that problem but does not eliminate it entirely. Well recommended, especially considering the low price.
