Great value, completely bypasses old phone lines in house
I've owned VTech phones before, and they performed excellently, with changes of the rechargeable batteries every few years and were still working fine after about 10 years. However, they used the old phone lines and jacks in the house, and we lost service for a couple of days whenever it rained, presumable because the phone lines got wet. The reason I bought this new set of 5 is to completely bypass old phone lines and jacks in the house. The main station plugs directly into the modem, which provides landline VOIP voice service over the internet using XFinity. The other four phones around the house only need to be plugged in at the base, and do not require any jacks or phone lines. The sound quality is fine and the layout of buttons is convenient. I synced my cell phone, but don't expect ... I also don't expect to use the junk call filter because in general I would need to enter the allowed phone numbers one at a time and the blocked numbers one at a time (not able to import my contact list from my iMac or iPhone). Altogether an excellent value, five phones including base for under $130. These use a slightly different rechargeable battery (BT183342/BT283342) from my previous VTech phones.

Best Home Phone I've Ever Had
I bought the VTech IS8151-5 cordless phone system in mid-March of '23 but didn't start using the "Smart Call Blocker" feature until late Nov of 23. >>>> If you still have a home telephone, this phone system is the best! <<<< The "Smart Call Blocker" feature blocks all the robo-calls allowing you to live in peace knowing only real people are on the other end when you answer the phone. I didn't use the "Smart Call Blocker" feature at first because I thought it would be hard to set up and some desirable calls would be blocked. After using the phone for a while, I learned how easy the blocking feature was to set up and how well it worked. The "Smart Call Blocker" feature now blocks from 2-6 calls a day since I turned it on. I haven't had any desirable call not get through the ... Great features
Still haven't figured out all the features. Sorta confusing . Finally got it to sync to cell after many failed attempts by selecting sync to headset. Then back to cell. Never went through smart call block set up. Too complicated and I didn't want to hand type directory. Has long battery life once fully charged. Ringer is very loud. Initial basic recorder is automated so you just listen and follow instructions. It's all the other stuff that you have to trIall and error with that were so time consuming to set up.
