It's not an inexpensive lens, but the difference between this and say a kit lens is simply day and night! Sharpness is astonishing with excellent contrast and color rendering. The fast f/1.4 capability make this ideal for capturing a beautiful bokah when selectively focusing. This same speed also makes this a prime lens for low light photography. Bottom line is that if you've felt like the MFT format isn't all you hoped it would be, check your lens before you blame it on the sensor size because this 25mm will certainly change your mind! Are there cons? I would have liked to see the OIS feature to help steady slow shots and video. If it was a matter of lens speed or stabilization, I would pick the fast speed anyway. Some people consider this as big and heavy and I suppose it is for an MFT lens. I tend to view the size and weight as a side effect of the robust build quality and lack of compromise in construction. I have had my eye on this lens for a long time. Was just too expensive. Found a good price here, better than Amazon. Very pleased with the lens, have used it for a couple of weeks. If you can afford it, get it. Clearest pics and great boket.

this is my 2nd lens for my E-M5 after I got Zuiko 75mm f/1.8. thinking about paying more than $500 for lens that equal to 50mm is crazy (my Nikon 50mm f/1.4G cost about $400 new), but it is great investment. size & weight is perfect for MFT camera. Handling is great, even for manual. Picture and color is sharp, warm and has plenty of contrast color.... all great but 1 thing, I wish the hood is reversible just like my Nikon.
