    I haven't had a chance to use it on the water yet. But I installed in the back of boat, I think it would be better if they had a plug in so you could use different adapter to attach to battery. I cut off the cigarette lighter adapter,and added a plug, so I can use a clamp on clip, and also plug the cigarette adapter back in so I can use on another boat that I javelin. But the product I purchased was well built and the remote on off is awsome and I love the speed variations. Would recommend
