The BOSS PH-3 Phase Shifter pedal brings in host of classic and modern phasing effects, including RISE and FALL modes for continuous falling and rising effects. Synchronizing these phasing effects is made very easy; just tap the pedal to the desired tempo. The BOSS PH-3 gives you 4, 8, 10 and 12-stage Phase Shifters, plus a Step effect. The BOSS PH-3 guitar effect pedal also supports an optional expression pedal for real-time control of the Rate, Filter and Tempo. This guitar effect pedal also features a step filter to run the guitar sound through random phage stages at a steady pace, creating wonderful phasing effects.

    Old School Rocker Compares Digital BOSS-PH3 to Vintage Analog Maestro Phase Shifter

    Okay, I am an old school rocker who used vintage equipment when it was "state of the art". I loved my analog Maestro Phase Shifter that had 3 on-off switches, but after 40 some odd years, it was no longer useable. So I looked for a replacement of that great 70's/80's sound. I read lots of reviews and decided on this BOSS-PH3 Phase Shifter. It certainly works well, and has a myriad of adjustment variables, but as such, it takes a lot to adjust it to where I get the amount of phase that I want. Using it live with the unit on the floor, as it is meant to be used, it is impossible to make changes to the phase between songs, so that is where I find it has its biggest limitation. However, if you are going to use only one phase setting for everything, this is perfect for you.

    Very Flexible Phase Shifter

    This pedal offers a wide range of great phase shifter sounds from very subtle to in-your-face jet swooshes to arpeggiator type stutters. I originally bought this as a back up but I decided to put it on my pedal board instead of a boutique phase shifter that I also bought.

    Great phaser that covers a lot of styles and advancements in modulation.

    If you're looking for a phase pedal which can cover a lot the ground and you do not want to blow up your budget look no further because the Boss PH-3 covers it all. The simple straight ahead controls make this an easy choice for a plug and play modulation effect helping to avoid the cost or complexity of an advanced multi effects unit or over the top modulation pedal. For me I have both embraced the idea of multiple effect processor and stomp boxes and Boss makes some of the best. The cost, durability, quality, and history always have given Boss the edge any time I am on the hunt for new pedal. This phase pedal is a keeper and one to add to the the list of possibilities.

    Boss PH-3

    It has a Variety of sound compared to my MXR phase 90. I really like the rise and fall modes. You Purchase BOSS with confidence in knowing you can’t go wrong with any boss pedal. Boss is best. I have a couple of boss pedals that I’ve had over 30 years and they still perform excellent.
