Exactly what I needed, no questions asked.
I purchased this RAM memory in order to boost my Mac Pro 2,1 to 64 GB of RAM, and it works! This RAM is fully compatible with the 1,1 and 2,1 models of the Mac Pro, however, will only work with a 64-bit kernel, so you need to be running at least system version 10.8+, since it's the first "unsupported" OS with a full 64-bit kernel, which is what will allow the Mac Pro to see the full extent of the RAM, despite there being conflicting reports of it not working, online. Make sure you are not using a modified boot loader, and merely using a modded boot efi file to boot your Mac Pro. If I had one small complaint about this RAM, it's that they don't have extended heatsinks, however, I understood this is certainly NOT conventional RAM memory for the older Mac Pro, let alone is it even supported ... I purchased this RAM memory in order to boost my Mac Pro 2,1 to 64 GB of RAM, and it works! This matched set works well, and allows my machine to run fast, and effortlessly. Purchased RAM for aging HP Proliant DL380 G5 server that needed a boost to turn it into a vm host development server to gain 3-4 more years life out of it before it goes out the door to the recyclers. The hardware on the server is still running strong so a memory boost was all that was needed to re-purpose this server for a few more years use as a development host for MS Hyper-V and multiple vm's running from it. The 4x8GB ram sticks arrived in great new like condition, fit in the memory slots of the server without a hitch, and the server recognized the memory without a single problem. After a few days of running there are no problems with the memory and I am quite pleased with the memory and the bargain of purchasing used new like memory for a server that would have cost an arm and a ... With a little planning and the use of development licensing and opensource licensing these older servers built like tanks can still serve a purpose in a world set on throwing out perfectly good hardware every few years. Amazing what a few dollars and great eBay sellers can do to keep perfectly good hardware working beyond their "expiration date". I'm extremely happy with the memory and experience!
