good SWR - good sturdy build - good for out of signal

This antenna does not take up much room to mount- no radials, and easy to hide from view if you need to. It gets good SWR across the band on 10 meters and ok SWR on 11 meters. so, you can use it on both bands if you need to. It has very sturdy construction. We had bad storms recently and there was no problem. It is a good buy if you want a little "out of sight" antenna with good no tune needed for SWR. 73's. Good price, too!!

Great Light Saber! Yes, An Antenna Becomes A Light Saber!

This 3ft tram 1499 base antenna is cheap for a reason. No, not the build quality, that's fine. If you are only wanting to transmit 1 to 2 miles max, this is for you. Anymore than that and it will fail you. The hardware that comes with it for mounting to a pole that you provide, is good. Says that its recommended you use 50 ft of coax. Hmm, doing so is ok, considering they're planning on the coax to "act" like part of the antenna, but if you have that much coax and only needed 25ft, what do you do? Coil it up? NO. Don't coil coax, drape it around inside? Well, that's what I had to do. Ugh. Ended up taking down this Light Saber and getting a real base antenna. SWR's were set already. 1.5 across the board.

  • Good for the money. Needs a tuner

This antenna is good for the price. This antenna cannot be tuned on its own. You will need to use an external antenna tuner to get low SWR. Without an antenna tuner the SWR on my meter was fully spiked. This does work pretty well. Better than my old tram mobile magnetic mount CB antenna that I was using. As far as recommending this. I would say look around. There are probably better antennas out there with more bang for the buck.

  • Small profile, easy to mount

Mounted on top of 2-story metal roof with tri-mag base that I adapted. Was able to receive more active radio channel talk. Unit is light weight and compact, very little wind profile, quality built. Used 50' of RG-8X cable and SWR is very suitable across the channels. Excellent product at a reasonable price.

  • Great For The Beginner

I use to drive long distances and enjoyed listening to the CB radio. Not driving anymore but still love to listen. Great product for the beginner or seasoned CB'er. Easy install and great for the pocket. If you are looking to join a key up battle this is not for you.
