No built in signal amplifier
It has no built in signal amplifier,but I have found that if you use an archer 20db gain signal amplifier which you can purchase on ebay,or purchase a signal booster amplifier of another brand which is comperable to the archer 20db signal amplifier which you can purchase on ebay,then this antenna works very well.

Bought This For FM Radio Only
My cheap little FM antenna wasn`t cutting it anymore so I started looking for a replacement. I picked up a used but mint conditioned ATV 1000 for just over $4. It is made much better and is heavier than my junk antenna. It pulls in an FM signal much better. My signal went from 0.5 to 2.5 with the new antenna (5 is max.). Huge improvement! And I`m at least 60 miles from the nearest FM station. I can get one station that`s 90 miles away too. Does The Job Right
I needed an upgrade for my stereo and this antenna delivered in a big way. I didn`t realize what a difference an amplified antenna would do for my stereo but it doubled and in some cases tripled my signal strength. I bought a splitter for it so it would connect to my stereo easily. The rabbit ears extend 39 inches and can be turned in any direction. The middle dial allows you to fine tune to get the best signal. I am very pleased with this antenna. This radio shack ant. Worked great as soon as I hooked it up I got another channel without even trying it is old and the power cord has a little short but not to bad and I can fix that like I said it is old if you can find one but it it's nice and heavy and my vhf channels come in just as good as my uhf the new antennas don't give power or whatever (I'm not a expert) to vhf so this nice old one is heavy not all plastic and lacking in good old fashioned quality that they use to put into the old powered antennas so yea see it but it!This radio shack ant. Great RCA amplified antenna!
Ok, so I've purchased and returned too many amplified antennas with 'promises' of miles of coverage that just didn't live up to the claims. THIS RCA antenna though, does. I got PBS stations right off the bat and every time I autoprogram, it picks up more stations. I could not be more pleased.
