It's exactly as described as a new copy of Win XP for refurbishing a PC. The CD case had the factory sticker tape on it too.

This installs perfectly on my Dell Optiplex GX1. The seller also provided detailed info on how to get it activated, once installed.

No problems with install or setup, but XP, at this point, has limited use.

I'll give 5 stars, because the install and set-up went flawlessly. The instructions were excellent-well- written and easy to understand. The following is advice for someone who is considering buying this disk. Windows XP Home Edition is fine for someone who wants to do limited computer work. It is fine for activities, which do not rely on an internet connection. The included browser IE 8 is just too old for most websites. If someone had some old, self-contained games, which could be installed, then that would be an option. Perhaps the only option. As I indicated above, there were no problems with the software per se.. Windows 7 is a much better option.

    • Good operating system and easy to install.

Older operating system but stable and easy to use. Installed in rebuilt computer with new hard drive. Installation was easy formatting hard drive with Windows XP CD and installing software. Did not activate right away and 30 day trial expired. After about 10 months I returned to working on the computer and not having internet access set up I used the telephone numbered provided on screen to activate. All went well, just have your phone and computer close to each other and enter all numbers in blocks correctly. I wrote them on paper to make it easier to enter in telephone, and also the numbers provided from Microsoft to enter in computer having them repeated several times by the robotic activation system. Worked out well.

    • It worked.

It worked. It accepted the product key. I got it to install in VirtualBox, and it worked. I couldn't care less about built-in software or accessories, because I wanted it to run a few specific programs that won't run on Linux or in Win7. What more to say?

    • Unopened, unregistered/activated WinXp OS as advertised

Product was as advertised. Installation was fine, activation was fine. As I intended for it to be used on a virtual machine, I was forced to remove it as a virtual OS as it is no longer supported by Hyper-V. I will install it on an old legacy machine at a later date.
