Remarkable value
As a designer, it has long been clear to me that the conventional toaster is a disaster, popping out toast that is either over or under-done. How obvious is it to make the toast visible so the user can see when it's right?
Today there are a number of glass-walled toasters and most of them take the view that properly browned toast is a luxury rather than a basic functional requirement and jack the price up accordingly, yet seemingly without including any greater reliability.
What I like about this toaster is that it incorporates the necessary glass panel but without the designer price tag. The heating elements have to be spaced apart in order to see between them and that compromises the uniformity of heat, but there are also heat reflectors that need to be kept clean.
The glass comes out easily for cleaning purposes and there's a safety switch so it won't run without the glass fitted, which wouldn't be safe.
Given the low price, it's worth trying. .
