  • Unto This Hour by Tom Wicker

This book is a novel and not a personal history of the war. That was my mistake. I thought I would give it a try anyway. I threw the book in the trash after I read where the author tried to trash the character of Harry Gilmore a confederate Gentleman of high character and a highly respected citizen of Baltimore Maryland before and after the war by portraying him as someone looking at the but of another younger soldier as he bent over. He did have pants on but this was the kind of trash that is slanderous and totally uncalled for. What was the purpose of that. My copy is at the dump!

  • Unto this hour

Best civil war novel I ever read. I read it over every August.
