A quietly amusing film about the friendship between two men of very different backgrounds. Well worth the money and well worth watching.

I bought this film when i looked for French films on E-bay.The DVD was a good price. Its a very atmospheric French film well worth watching. The actors are more real to life than most. The whole film takes place during the course of one week. Two strangers meet in a small French town, who are perfect opposites in nature. This is one of the best foreign films i have seen.
Great film, seems more evocative for being French rather than a duff US remake.Anyone still labouring under the misapprehension of Johnny Halliday as a sort of Gallic Cliff Richard would have such thoughts banished by this.He turns in a terrific, world weary performance as the ageing, fading crook, playing off Jean Rochefort's equally jaded small town teacher. Two losers basically wishing they each had the miserable life of the other, but well enough scripted with the odd spark of humour to avoid miserabilist shoe-gazing.Definitely one to see,and intimate enough to transfer well to small screen.
Offbeat comedy drama about the unlikely friendship that develops between an eccentric retired teacher and a jaded, world-weary bank robber - and their realisation that each wishes he had the life of the other. Superb performances from Johnny Hallyday and Jean Rochefort in a film directed by the great Patrice Leconte.
