    Nostalgic!! Love this game!!

    I used to play this game all the time as a teenager, I was so happy to be able to find the original game. The new version has pre-made enclosures and is a drag and drop style game and that is boring! I much prefer the design freedom you get with the 2001 version. I did not have to have a fancy gaming computer to play the game, it loaded perfectly to my cheap $230 laptop, you do however have to make sure your computer has Windows software to run the game. While it is an older game and the graphics are not as good as the newer games and it dose take longer to load, it is still, to this day, one of my favorite games.

    This game is awesome. It is also good for people who like to manage money, zoo rating, animal happiness, and guest happiness. It is very hard to make money if you have a large zoo however, unless you have happy people. Remember, happy people give a lot of money in donations and buy a lot of stuff!! I once had a zoo that made 20- 30 thousand dollars a month off of donations alone! One thing that can get tedious is keeping the animals happy, and building perfect animal exibits. Also, it takes so much time to build a nice, decorative wing of the zoo. I wish there was some way to get animals into exibits quicker when you want to make a large zoo more quickly.This game keeps a good balance of managing money, with in-depth income and expense pages, and being able to have fun building and playing ...

    Fun and Educational

    I used to love playing Zoo Tycoon as a kid and wanted to play it again. It is a classic and is both fun and educational. I love reading the animal descriptions and learning about different species. The marine mania and dinosaur dig extensions add so much to the game and fun! It is compatible with newer systems.

    Classic Fun

    This is the only game I've found where one may take the disk out in the middle of playing and continue as though nothing happened. Which makes it particularly good if two people want to play it at the same time, as I started playing with someone elsse's copy this was a convenient feature. It's simple enough to set up, I managed to set it up with ease as a child in grade school. There is a mild educational value as well to the game as it explains where the animals come from and general information about them. It can be a good lesson in balancing funds to optimise profit, but that's a bit of a stretch. The graphics are good for a game of it's time and ilk.

    Made my fiancé very happy.

    My fiancé grew up playing this game. She recently lost her original CD, and the original said he was corrupted. I was happy to make a purchase on eBay and now I have a happy camper in the house. Which is always a plus.
