NBA Live 96 contains all of the aspects of NBA basketball. Real teams and players are featured along with a create player option. The create player option allows this game to include all of the NBA superstars who may not be included with the NBA players license. Simply type in a players name who is not in the game and he will be created. This also works with many past NBA players, most of which are now in the Hall of Fame.<br><br>Aside from all of the players included, NBA Live 96 has a variety of gameplay options. More than 60 offensive plays and ten defensive sets. Season, exibition, and playoff modes, including an NBA draft option. You can also play with the two all-star teams or create four custom teams. There is also 4 Way Play compatibility for four-player action.

Best Genesis BBall
This is the best Genesis basketball game. Fun gameplay, yet realistic - down to hairstyles and jersey numbers. Best thing is a ton of secret players you can get (Jordan, Sheed, Dr. J). Even starts with an expansion draft for the new Grizzlies and Raptors. Good music too.

Most significantly, roster control for the Live series is expanded to an (at the time) unprecedented level, with trades between any team and for any player. (In Live 95 for Sega Genesis, only starters can be traded.) Additionally, the player release is introduced to the Live series, letting a user simply release a player and assign him to another team. Also, the rosters can be saved for consecutive seasons, as desired. Also, rookies are introduced to the franchise, through unlockable characters through the create player feature, yet another ground-breaking addition to the series. In Live 95 for Genesis, Grant Hill, Jason Kidd, and Glenn Robinson are not on their respective teams. Through ... Through create player, KEVIN GARNETT, RASHEED WALLACE, JERRY STACKHOUSE, DAMON STOUDAMIRE, and nearly every first round draft pick from 1995 (and a lot of 2nd rounders too) can be added to the appropriate rosters. (Grant Hill, Jason Kidd, and Glenn Robinson are in this version too by the way.) To add to this already wonderful lists of features, NBA Live 96 also allowed for Legends players to be added for the first time in a Live series through the previously mentioned create player option. Play with LARRY BIRD, MAGIC JOHNSON, BILL WALTON, BOB COUSY, BILL RUSSELL, and for the first time in a Live game MICHAEL JORDAN. Jordan was retired at the release of NBA Live 95, but returned from retirement in 1995. Besides the improvements in roster control, the game play is improved in Live 96. Live 95 is a great game for any casual fan of five-on-five fast-paced basketball; however, high field goal percentages and lack of differentiation between inside and outside shooters made Live 95 seem like an arcade game. Live 96 is closer to a basketball simulation, and while not perfect, the game play more accurately represents NBA basketball than Live 95. The foul calls are inconsistent, but this problem is consistent through the Live series on Genesis and even into Playstation. Buyer's note: As with some EA sports games published on Sega, the batteries often malfunction (or simply run out of energy?) and the game cannot save any data. This is most bothersome with Live 96, because when the game begins, the rosters of the Toronto Raptors and Vancouver Grizzlies are empty and must be filled (through an expansion draft!). If anyone knows how to fix this problem, I would be interested to know, but I wanted to add this note, as the copy I have has this problem. (I traded in 6 games to get this game when it was released in 1995.) :)

I played these video games when I was a kid, things sure have changed big time but I still remember all the time . I spent playing and enjoying these games . It's still a cool NBA Game if you type in Michael Jordan name in create player, they fill in the rest weight, height, college and attributes . He is not in the roster, anyways in most NBA basketball games Michael Jordan does not appear for some reason .I played these video games when I was a kid, things sure have changed big time but I still remember all the time .
