    Almost a great monitor....

    The monitor sounds fine, build quality is good like you'd expect from Yamaha, and the lack of ugly metal corners makes it especially pleasing for fixed installations such as churches or auditoriums, (but maybe faster wear for heavy road use?). The Speakon and 1/4" inputs are nice, BUT... for Yamaha to go to the trouble of making a floor monitor with only one available aiming angle makes me think it was designed by someone who's never performed. That's a real disappointment. Sticking hymnals under a brand new monitor because it aims to high to be useful for a group makes it the only pair of these I'll buy as a contractor, Yamaha... put the suits back in the accounting dept. and let musicians design your gear.
