Product Information

Mario's Tennis places you on a three-dimensional tennis court against one of seven characters from Mario's past games: Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, Yoshi, Toad, Koopa or Donkey Kong Jr. All have individual ratings in speed, power and racquet contact area, so find a character that best suits your playing style and select a game of singles or doubles play. Don't worry, you won't have to control both characters; the computer will take over as your partner. <br><br>Players can also select the difficulty level, length of match, or enter a tournament to play a series of singles or doubles matches until victorious. Tennis features such as hitting ground strokes, lobs, volleys and smashes are all incorporated in the game as are the official rules. Players can also check their statistics after each match, such as total aces served, double faults, errors, net points, baseline points and first serve percentage. Lakitu will be your Chair Umpire and keeps score for all of the matches, but don't think about arguing over line calls -- it's not allowed!

    Mario's Tennis - The original pack in game for the Nintendo Virtual Boy

    I'm so glad I grew up in the 80's and 90's... What an exciting time for video games and video game systems! When the Virtual Boy first came out I was a freshman in high school. I remember seeing one for the first time at Wal*Mart. I didn't actually get my hands on one until my first part time job which at that point they were selling at close out for around $30 ~ $40! Man, if I could go back in time I'd buy up a bunch of them because who knew that they'd be such collectors items today! ^_^ Mario's Tennis was the pack in game for the Virtual Boy. It didn't come in a box and I don't recall any Virtual Boy's ever being sold as "CORE" systems. I'm guessing that if it had survived for more than a year there would have been some "CORE" systems sold because they were already selling Mario's ...

    Mario Tennis review for the virtual boy game system

    Even though there were only a handful of games released for the Virtual Boy, Mario Tennis stands out as being one of the better games of the system. There are seven characters to choose from Nintendo's past and matches can be played on a singles or doubles basis against the computer. The "3-D" aspect works well except for when you are timing power shots, which you might often swing late on. Swinging just right can be a chore when the visual perspective may not match up right with the actual ball target. This problem, thankfully does not happen often. The characters are colorful and the play mood is right on to be enjoyable on a whimsical level. In other words, this is a great game to just turn on, play a match, and turn off feeling like you just had a little fun. A great starter game for ...

    Mario + Sports = Fun. For a while.

    I am very thankful to have gotten my hands on such a delightful specimen of Nintendo History: The Virtual Boy. When it arrived at my house, I was very excited. Along with the system came another joyous item: Mario Tennis. When I first played the game, I was fairly happy about the 3D effects; they cannot be duplicated anywhere else. The controls are simple: A hits the ball, B hits the ball. Although you may have fun playing this , it does get tedious after a while. All in all, this game is a must-have for any Virtual Boy owner. If you don't already own a Virtual Boy, go and get one. Now.

    Hi welcome to koolbubdavel's review console: Today I will be reviewing a game from the Nintendo Virtual Boy Titled Mario's Tennis. Mario's Tennis features most of the characters from the Mario series such as Mario's brother Luigi, Donkey Kong aka. DK, Wario, Bowser, and many other characters with their own techniques. You may have never heard of Virtual Boy as it was never really a live hit thing but I have to bet you've seen one in a Toys'R'Us or a Wal-Mart. Everyone says that the Virtual Boy did not have good graphics but it did making it more fun to play. The red(orange),blue color just didn't get much people interested but when people got to try one in a Vintage Game Store they probably wanted to buy it but it was not for sale, They were probably playing Virtual Boy's main game ...

    It's a pretty decent game. Deffinetally worth buying.

    Mario's Tennis. Plain and simple, just another tennis game with the exception of Mario characters. Game play is simple, but can irritate the eyes after about 20 minutes. Like every Virtual Boy game, the color is limited to Black and Red. The only 3-D the game offers is the movement of the players from going forward and backwards on the court. Overall, It gets a rate above 3 for being a Mario game, but a rate below 5 for being on Virtual Boy.
