Once plugged in and turned on, it started right up and was very quiet compared to an older dehumidifier I had been using in my basement. I ran it for about 18 hours with no problems and the water tank filled up 2 times in that time. Humidity went from 80% down to just under 60 %. VERY pleased with performance and quietness. Rolls easily.
