Once the old part was removed from my 08 Volvo XC V70 it was found that the new item wouldn t fit until the plastic nose that acted as a filter had to be removed as someone had previous done with the bad part. Once the nosepiece was removed and the item installed the AWD began working! As I understand this is a normal part that goes bad on the Volvo s. I had to also change this same part on my 07 Ford Freestyle which was equipped with the same Volvo differential system.
