Returning to his homeland following the death of an heirless king, Wallace (Mel Gibson) finds the political landscape precarious. Edward the Longshanks, King of England (Patrick McGoohan), has captured Scotland's throne and threatens the freedom of all Scottish people, as tyrannical policies instituted by the English plague the Scots. Initially, Wallace is content to stand by the wayside, yearning for the simple life of building a home and raising a family. However, when the woman he loves (Catherine McCormack) suffers a cruel fate at the hands of English soldiers, Wallace takes a stand against the new rule. With his fierce patriotism and determination, he gathers an amateur but passionately rebellious army. Although this makeshift force may be outnumbered by the English troops, their desperation and love for their land surpass any military maneuvers, as evidenced in the film's breathtaking battle sequences.

Mel Gibson certainly deserved the OSCAR for the Directing & Acting in this film. So did the winners of the other '3'.....I really Loved this story.

Best Movie ever made !!Freedom
I have watched this movie so much I can clean house and hear it and see the scenes in my mind. The eyes of murron desperatly searching with tear filled eyes praying to see William come at the last momment, to come in sight, eyes I will never forget. Great acting. Always wishing each time I see it, he will come to her rescue. The eyes, the eyes, oh my gosh there was never a movie made before except for "Ghost" that showed and felt everything they thought through the eyes. When Willian was being tortured, Acting was so good you could almost feel the pain with him. When it came time to behead William his eyes saw Murron his murdered wife. That eye to eye contact talking with more emotion than 1,000 words could say. Let me not forget the many other times in the movie when we laughed like when ... Another shocking scene was when the King threw his sons Gay lover out the window to his death. You are missing one of the best movies ever made if you live your life without seeing this one. Oh Yes The Kings Gay son was married to a beautiful sweet women for eye service to the public. She fell in love with William. They had a love affair one time. On the Kings death bed he had a stroke and could not talk. He ( the King) was having Williams head cut off so his daughter in law whispered to him , that the child with in her was not of his blood line but the blood line of William Wallace. You just have to see this movie.

Braveheart
Braveheart was a old time favorite of my husband. So when i seen it on ebay i just had to bid on it and buy it for him. I have never seen it before but he said it was a great movie. So when we decied to sit down and watch it i have to say i also enjoyed it as well. There is nothing really to dislike about this movie. Im not really into alot of killing like my husband is but it was very intersting to watch. I do recommed this movie for everyone to see. But not the children. Its not really a childrens movie.
