The sequel to the first motorcycle racing game on the PlayStation 2, MotoGP 2 features 20 professional drivers from around the world competing on ten authentic racing tracks in Japan, France, Spain, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, and Germany. After selecting one of 12 available bikes, players can fine tune areas in transmission, handling, acceleration, brakes, and tires. New bikes become available as the game progresses.<br><br>A total of five modes are initially selectable from the main menu screen, with a bonus mode becoming unlocked by clearing specific challenges. Arcade mode is a single race against a field of computer opponents, while Vs. offers racing action against a friend. Season mode is the heart of the game, where players will be able to join a racing team and earn points by competing in each of the ten circuits.<br><br>Time Trial has players racing to break course records against an optional ghost image, and Challenge involves clearing specific tasks on the different courses. For example, players might have to overtake a certain number of bikes in the first lap. Other challenges consist of beating a course's qualification time or finishing first in a circuit. Three medals are earned based on time, difficulty, or number of laps.<br><br>The bonus Legends mode is a race against four retired stars of motorcycle racing from a pool of five. Various options in each mode help customize the experience. The game can be played in a 16:9 aspect ratio for widescreen televisions, and players can opt to race on either dry or rainy conditions, with rain increasing the likelihood of crashes and skidding. In addition, multiple camera angles are available to view the action. <br><br>Other settings include manual or automatic transmission, adjustable handicap for two-player contests, three lap types (two, five, or full), and three difficulty levels. Difficulty influences the number of races players will have to enter, with Hard spanning ten races over five years. Replays from the races as well as season progress, lap times, and records can be saved directly to memory card.

    Excellent Sport Bike Game!

    This game in my opinion has no real flaws. It is a fast paced life like sim for the moto GP circuit with realistic track layouts and graphics. You can design your own paint scheme or use one of the Top Pro Riders on the GP Circuit. It also provides realistic level settings once your skills improve. Trust me, on hard is just like the real thing, to fast in the turn and your down. A great starter game for adults or children just for the experience of track racing. I decided to buy this game due to it's value, graphics and gameplay. Not so pricey that if you were disappointed or no longer interested that you would have a lot invested. But this game is no slouch, Top of the line for the enthusiast to enjoy.

    This game my favorite of all GP games inluding Gp 07!

    GP2 provides the most fun of any of the GP games (for me) out there on any platform. This includes the new GP07 on the X Box 360. The physics and controls make me feel connected to the bike. The "timed lap" feature is helpful in getting acquantitted with different tracks and is actually a game in its self. I've yet to play GP3 on PS2 but I'm looking for a deal on E-Bay. I suggest that if you're into the GP games and haven't tried it yet, GP2 won't let you down.

    descent

    game is fairly descent. i dont play moto games that much, but i bought this very cheap. an its worth more than i give for it if that makes since. i will continue to play this game an try to master! would recommand others to try as well. has some real feel to it at times!!!

    love this game i play for hours can not wait to get motogp 2008 the bikes and tracks are great need nicky hayden in it though
