Very nice for the economical price that it was. The backplate was actually steel. It probably wasn’t necessary but took a light cut on the backplate to true it up before mounting the chuck. Put a piece of 1 1/2 ground stock in the chuck and it ran within 0.0012 TIR. Unbelievable. The scroll turned a little tight, but better that than sloppy. Overall I was very happy. Started out looking for a cheap used chuck. There are lower priced 8” chucks out there but for 6 jaws I think this value is best
