The Tapered Scabbard opens 1/2 way along its top edge to allow removal of the leaf shaped sword. This is my only criticism. While nicely sewn the sword feels neither secure nor safe. Better to have had a straight scabbard in my opinion. WR makes a good sword and I highly recommend this seller!
