    Great Product, Easy Installation, Great Price!

    The item is of good quality and is furnished with all the accessories that could possibly be needed. Installation was very straightforward; I simply removed the two wires (spade lug) from the existing remote receiver, and inserted the two from this replacement. What was of particular interest to me in purchasing this remote system was the simple on/off operation. The previous remote had a thermostat function. While convenient, it was also easy to forget to turn it off before going to bed or leaving the home (once the set temperature was reached and the fireplace turned off). If this were the case, sometime later, when the room temperature dropped, the fireplace would turn on and again heat to the set point. Best of all, the price was very favorable as compared to that from the OEM.

    Overpriced

    This product is overpriced. It doesn't holdup to tenant abuse. Battery life is way to short. But, it generally does the job. Given the current state of electronics, I think it needs a redesign. The manufacturer has gotten lazy.

    Great Fireplace remote

    I had to replace my current Sky-1001A after 10 years. We only had to replace the current unit with this new one. Installation was a little tricky, but not too bad. We don't have a wall plate for the fireplace, so didn't have to install it. The remote works perfectly. I am very happy with this purchase and I will purchase again on eBay. (the cheapest place I could find).

    Easy to install, easy to set up, easy to use. It is, I'm guessing here, Easy!

    9 year old unit malfunctioned, so went looking for a new one. Called the company and they said this was the right model and number, so started my search. There are a lot of them out there, for as much as $160 .... and less, and less, but, none that matched this price and delivery. It arrived, I had to use a magnifying glass to read the instructions, but, I simply uninstalled the old one, and then reversed the process for this one and ..... voila! Turned on the gas, lit the pilot and pushed the button. Instant flame. Worked perfectly, first time, every time. I would buy it again, tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after that, or the day......

    Simple fireplace remote control

    As noted, a simple on/off control that won’t confuse anybody thats ever used a remote. Too many choices makes for unnecessary service calls. This unit went into a rental cabin that had a very complicated remote with all the bells and whistles. That remote is now in a drawer somewhere.
