    Generic roll of gasket material

    The seal is one roll of foam rubber gasket material that you cut into pieces and then peel and stick to the truck box. Unfortunately the gaps on the vertical sides of tailgate are much larger than the gap at the bottom. The seal is loose in spots on the vertical sides of the tailgate. It is too tight on the bottom of the tailgate making it difficult to shut the gate. A better design would have been to provide two different sizes (larger for the sides and thinner for the bottom - versus the "1 size fits all" approach that fits no where really well. The installation instructions fail to mention that you have cut the horizontal seal into two pieces to fit around a bracket that sticks out in the bottom of the gate. Failure to cut around that spot results in the protruding piece ripping ...

    Nice product but it doesn’t work to seal my tailgate

    This seal is well made and easy to install, but the tailgate of my 2018 raptor still allows dust and rain to enter because the tailgate doesn’t come close enough to the bed rails to seal with this kit from ford. Essentially I wasted the money and time installing it. Maybe an aftermarket kit had a larger seal for the sides and corners of the tailgate.

    Tailgate dust seal

    Ford should put these on at the factory, I have a topper on my 2017 f-150 and it cut the dust entering in by 95 percent. Recommend it if you drive a lot of dirt roads.
