    What was I thinking?

    Sure - it will rewind a tape - just takes a LONG time. And the auto-release (cover should op up when done) does not work..... so I have to position myself right next to the unit so I can rescue the tape. Time to invest in a good DVR.

    Stopped working after a few uses

    Granted it was used. Worked fine for a day or do and then malfunctioned. One gets the impression that the design could have been better.
