The product is quite a good value but support is no existent. You are able have the cord on either the left or the right side by reversing the threading in the instructions. Use the clip provided to have the shade not unwind completely. If you leave a bit of a curl at the bottom the shade will retract uniformly, if you don't it will retract loopsided.
